What's the difference between a gig and a service?
A gig is a one-time task you need done — you post it, students apply, and it closes once complete. A service is a permanent listing you create to offer your skills — it stays live and clients can book you repeatedly.
Who can list a service?
Anyone on UGig — students, businesses, or individual posters. If you have something valuable to offer, create a listing and start getting booked.
How does payment work?
For both gigs and service bookings, payment is charged upfront and held in escrow by Stripe. Once both parties confirm the work is done, the provider is paid. If something goes wrong, you can open a dispute.
Which campuses are supported?
UGig currently supports 10+ Florida universities including UF, FSU, UCF, USF, FIU, FAU, and more.
Do I need to verify my business?
No upfront verification required — just sign up and start posting or listing. We may add verified badges for businesses as the platform grows.
